Quills (2007)
  • Written by: Doug Wright
  • Production: Birmingham Festival Theatre
  • Director: Dane Peterson
  • Cues: 35 Total
  • Description: This twisted comedy is based on the time the Marquis de Sade spent at the Charenton Asylum in France. I composed extensive incidental music to accompany the on-stage action, including readings of the real Marquis' stories. Please see the separate Quills Page for more info and MP3 samples.

Fuddy Meers (2007)

  • Written by: David Lindsay-Abaire
  • Production: Birmingham Festival Theatre
  • Director: Janelle Cochrane
  • Cues: 20 Total
  • Description: A raucous dark comedy chronicling a day in the life of Claire, a woman who wakes up every morning with her memory erased, leaving her husband and a motley crew of oddballs to help her fill in the details. The first sample is the original theme music I wrote. The second is scene change cue in which the script called for a "trippy medley" of previous sound cues.

Hazard County (2005)
  • Written by: Allison Moore
  • Production: Birmingham Festival Theatre
  • Director: Steve Ray
  • Cues: 21 Total
  • Description: Set in rural Kentucky, this dark and uncompromising drama touches on themes of racism, sex, single-motherhood, freedom of speech, and the role of the media in everyday lives. When a Hollywood producer comes to town, racial tensions are sparked, leaving the characters and the audience questioning their perceptions of the South. I composed several original songs for scene change and incidental music.

The Eight: Reindeer Monologues (2005)
  • Written by: Jeff Goode
  • Production: Birmingham Festival Theatre
  • Director: Judy Jones
  • Cues: 9 Total
  • Description: In this risque, dark, and hilarious cult Christmas classic, all eight of Santa's reindeer give monologues describing their versions of events as Vixen accuses Santa of raping her and molesting the elves. To introduce each monologue, I wrote variations on "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" in contrasting styles to refelct the personality of each deer.

Misc. Other (2003-2006)
  • Description: Other effects cues and original music created for various productions, including Jar the Floor by Cheryl L. West, The Subject Tonight is Love by Sandra Deer, Cabaret by Joe Masteroff, The Oldest Profession by Paula Vogel, and Inspecting Carol by Daniel Sullivan.
