For Matt and Kelly:

"The beauty of marriage is not that two souls merge into one. It's that two individuals, with differences and likenesses, can join through love their hopes, fears, needs, and shortcomings. This con-fusion of souls is reflected in this piece. Clashing harmonies tease and provoke, distinct, yet congruent. The divergent melodies of the recurring theme wind around one another until they coalesce in a final dramatic statement. I composed this piece especially for this day, and dedicate it with love to my dear brother and sister-in-law. May you share countless years of joy, strife, ecstasy, pain, and all the other wonderful things life offers." - August 16, 2008
